Paige's Diary
Day 155
March 22, 2010
Dear Diary, Paige! Paige! Paige! I'm really happy today, and I have no idea why. I guess sometimes you just wake up in a good mood. Maybe I slept really good last night. School was good today, and I already finished all my homework. I'm going to see if my dad wants to take the dogs for a walk. See you later!
Day 154
March 20, 2010
Dear Diary, Pager checking in, finally! My mom was busy making dinner tonight and asked me to give my little sister a bath. I think I got more wet than Ava did! There were bubbles flying everywhere. I think I should use a little less bubble bath next time! But hey, at least Ava had fun, right?
Day 153
March 10, 2010
Dear Diary, Pager not feeling very spunky today. I didn't sleep good last night, and now I can hardly stay awake. I was too busy thinking about all the things to do for our spring festival. And once I start thinking, I can't stop! Our next spirit meeting is after school tomorrow. Go Owls!
Day 152
March 5, 2010
Dear Diary, Pager here! I'm so glad my parents are back! They totally forgot to get me a magnet, but Mom did get me a couple super adorable outfits for school. Ava got a piano toy from the big toy store there. I wish we could all go to New York City. Dad says maybe when Ava and I get a little older. I'm going to remember he said that! Time for my shower-
Day 151
February 25, 2010
Dear Diary, Pager again! My parents come home tonight! As long as their plane is on time, I should see them before I go to bed. I hope so. It feels like they've been gone a long time. Grandma says we need to clean up the house and get everything ready, so I better get going-
Day 150
February 22, 2010
Dear Diary, Lonely Paige here. My parents left yesterday for New York City. I'm not all alone, my grandma and grandpa are here, but it's not the same. I hope my parents have fun, maybe they'll bring me back a new magnet for my collection. Time for dinner!
Day 149
February 16, 2010
Dear Diary, Paige says no more snow please! This is not helping me get anything done. We were supposed to meet after school to work on the spring festival again, but no school means no meeting. Even my dogs are getting anxious to get out and do something. We take them outside in the snow for a little bit, but then you have to dry them with a blowdryer since they get all wet.
Day 148
February 14, 2010
Dear Diary, Happy Valentine's Day!!! We made our snowman special for Valentines. We put a pink scarf around his neck, and put big red hearts for the buttons. I think it looks really cute! Time for some hot cocoa now I think. See ya!
Day 147
February 9, 2010
Dear Diary, Paige again! I totally forgot to tell you yesterday that our spirit club is already planning our spring festival! We haven't figured out the date yet, but we already have some good ideas for activities. I can't wait!
Day 146
February 8, 2010
Dear Diary, Pager checking in! I didn't stay up to watch the whole Superbowl last night, but I watched part of it. I think the commercials were better than the game. They were pretty funny. Anyways, our teacher was rooting for the Colts, and we bet that the Saints would win instead. And Mrs. George said that if the Saints won we wouldn't have homework tonight. Yeah for no homework!
Day 145
January 27, 2010
Dear Diary, Sad Paige here. My parents are leaving! Okay, not leaving like for good, but they're going on a trip without us. They're going to New York city for 4 days next month. I wish I could go too, I've never even been to New York before. It's not right away, I just heard my mom talking about it to my aunt on the phone...
Day 144
January 21, 2010
Dear Diary, Spooky Paige here! You know when the wind is blowing and it'll make a tree's branchaes tap on the window when it blows? Well, even though I KNOW that's what it is, it freaks me out anyway! This is exactly why I don't even like scarey movies. Time to think about something else...I think I'll go play with my dogs. See ya!
Day 143
January 16, 2010
Dear Diary, Pager here! It's been almost a month since I got to see Marshmallow and visit Grandpa's farm. That feels like forever! I know we've been really busy, but I keep bugging my mom about when we can go to the farm again. I bet Marshmallow misses me too-
Day 142
January 12, 2010
Dear Diary, Pager again! I feel like going to see a movie this weekend, but there's nothing playing I really want to see. Mom said maybe I should have a movie night at our house and invite Jamie over. That might be a good idea, but it's not the same as going to the movies...
Day 141
January 8, 2010
Dear Diary, Pager here! The snow storm was so bad, that we don't have school today. I was outside with my friends building a snow fort. It was pretty cool, we made windows and everything. Too bad it'll eventually melt, but that's what happens. Phone's ringing, see ya!
Day 140
December 31, 2009
Dear Diary, Happy New Year Paige checking in! I cannot believe that tomorrow is the new year! Since we call this year "Oh-9", what do we call 2010? I'm not sure about that yet. You can't say "oh-10"! Saying just "10" sounds really weird too. Anyways, Happy New Year! I'm off to eat dinner. My parents are taking us out to Chili's!
Day 139
December 27, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige here! I haven't written in awhile because I've been sooooo busy having fun with my cousins. We've been building forts, and playing restaurant. We even made up our own menus. I'm sad that they have to go home tomorrow. I hope they can come back soon. We have a blast together!
Day 138
December 18, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager again! Natalie and Jessica, my cousins, are coming again soon! We had so much fun last time. This time they're staying for 4 days, and my aunt and uncle are staying too. I love having cousins!
Day 137
December 15, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager checking in! Last night my marker board with all my magnets on in it fell off the wall. At least I wasn't sleeping in my bed yet, I was listening to my music. But it still scared me! I think the putty just came loose. Dad said he'd fix it later.
Day 136
December 8, 2009
Dear Diary, Upset Page here! My little sister Ava broke my jewelry box. The little ballerina inside doesn't turn anymore, and the music sounds weird. I know Ava loves my stuff, but I wish she would be more careful. Mom said maybe my dad can fix it. He better, or Ava needs to get me a new one-
Day 135
December 6, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager, checkin in! We're so busy at school right now. The spirit club is helping to run the holiday gift shop. We have to help the kindergarten and first graders count their money, and find what they want to buy. Then we have to wrap everything. Whew! It sure is busy, but we're having fun too. Only a few more days till it's done. Time for bed!
Day 134
November 27, 2009
Dear Diary, Thankful Paige here! Yesterday was turkey day, and my parents were really nice, and invited Jamie, her mom, and her brother over for Thanksgiving. I'm sure it felt a little weird not having their dad there, but I think they still had a good time. After dinner we played Pictionary. It made everybody laugh, and that's a good thing!
Day 133
November 25, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager checking in! I've been so super busy, we had another competition last weekend, and I'm wiped! I think Marshmallow is too. He did great in the dressage classes. I like that they're a more relaxed test. It's like horse ballet, sort of. Anyways, we placed fourth overall this time. I'm so glad we have Thanksgiving weekend off though! See ya-
Day 132
November 15, 2009
Dear Diary, Happy, happy Paige here! Yellow ribbon! That means we got third place! Pretty good I think since I had one knockdown. That means Marshmallow knocked down one of the fences he was trying to jump over. It was my fault really, but it didn't matter, because a lot of kids were having knockdowns. I'm so happy we got a yellow! Time to celebrate-
Day 131
November 10, 2009
Dear Diary, Excited Paige here! My next show is coming up this weekend! There's actually a show Saturday, AND one Sunday. I hope Marshmallow is ready to go, I know I am. We've been working really hard, hopefully the judges will be able to see that. Got to go, so much to do!
Day 130
November 3, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager here! My teacher Mrs. George was out today. I hope she's not sick and will be back tomorrow. Our substitute was really nice, but it's not the same. Mrs. George is awesome! And whenever she's out, we get a work packet to do, not much fun if you ask me.
Day 129
October 28, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager! Pager! Ava does not like to share. I don't know if any little sisters like to share, but mine definitely does not. It's not her toys I want to play with. I don't watch a lot of tv, not like Ava does, but she does not like me to watch any of my shows. If Ava watches tv all the time, can't I have a turn every once in awhile? Maybe I'll bribe her and tell her she can play with my dolls or something if she lets me watch one of my shows!
Day 128
October 23, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! I wish sometimes my mom wasn't so on time for everything. I was talking to Jamie in carline, and before Jamie could finish telling me what she wanted to tell me, my name was called and it was my turn to go. Jamie said she would call me when she got home, but she hasn't called yet. I think I'll go grab a snack while I'm waiting.
Day 127
October 21, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! I really wish our school had decided to do a fall festival. I know we usually do them in the spring, and it's a little late now to try to plan one before winter break. It would have been fun doing bobbing for apples and stuff like that...maybe next year.
Day 126
October 13, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige here. I still feel really bad for Jamie and what's happening with her parents. I asked my mom about it. She said sometimes grownups just don't get along. It doesn't mean they can't be good parents and don't still love their kids, but things happen. That makes sense I guess. I think I'll go call Jamie and see what she's up to.
Day 125
October 7, 2009
Dear Diary, Sad Page here. When Jamie came over the other day, she started crying as soon as she walked in the door. She said her parents just told her they're getting a divorce. I didn't totally understand what that meant, but she explained it to me. I can't imagine my parents telling me they wouldn't live together anymore. I feel so bad for her. Mom says the best thing I can do right now is to be a friend to her and be there when she wants to talk. I can definitely do that.
Day 124
October 4, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager checking in! I am so excited, we're doing these new t-shirts for school. And since we're the owls, we decided to have a contest and let the students come up with their own drawings of what they think our owl should look like. Isn't that fun? The prize is going to be a gift card for the mall. Ooh, time to go, Jamie's here!
Day 123
September 28, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager again! Mom and I went to this candle store after school, and it was so smelly in there, I couldn't breathe! Smelly like apples, vanilla, and a bunch of other smells all at once. I like candles, but yuck. I was happy when she found what she wanted so we could go. Mom always likes to have candles going in the fall and winter. Usually she picks ones that smell like food.
Day 122
September 25, 2009
Dear Diary, School spirit Paige here! We're getting ready at school for our walk-a-thon. It's a big fundraiser we do every year to raise money for our school. All the students who walk get a t-shirt and a sport water bottle. Right now, I'm helping to make the posters to hang up around the school. Whew, that's a lot of posters!
Day 121
September 21, 2009
Dear Diary, Not-feeling-so-good-Paige here. I have the flu. All of a sudden last night I felt really cold and had the shivers, so I am home from school today. It makes me sad. I like school, and being home is so boring. I have to get better soon!
Day 120
September 16, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige checking in! Little sisters can be fun sometimes. You can teach them to say things you want them to say. You can tell them to go ask your parents if you can both have a cookie. There's lots of fun things. Ava loves to play "Bubble gum, bubble gum, in a dish". She can play that one forever without getting tired of it! Here she is right now, looking for me to play. See ya-
Day 119
September 7, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! I think I may have overdone it this weekend. My legs are so sore from riding for 3 days straight. I try to get all the practice time in that I can because I have shows coming up starting in October. My trainer tells me I need to just take it easy, that I'll be ready. I'll try, but I'm not the kind of person to take it easy. Time for dinner!
Day 118
September 3, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager here! Nothing really new and exciting going on right now. I pretty much go to school, do my homework, play with my friends outside, and wait to go ride Marshmallow again. That's about it. We're going to the farm this weekend, since it's a long weekend. Yeah! That means an extra day of riding!
Day 117
August 27, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! I totally forgot to tell you about my class. I have Mrs. George this year, and she's pretty cool so far. Every night she gives us a list of like ten different assignments, and we get to pick any four we want to do. Isn't that cool? I never had a teacher do that before. Our first vocabulary test is Friday, so I have some work to do. See you soon!
Day 116
August 26, 2009
Dear Diary, Excited Paige, checking in! I love that we're back in school. Yes, it's busy, but I love being busy! The teacher breakfast was perfect, and I think the teachers really liked it. My principal even said so. Now it's time to start planning events with the spirit club, like our walk-a-thon and movie nights. So much to do and so little time!
Day 115
August 18, 2009
Dear Diary, Busy, busy Paige here! Jamie and I volunteered to go into school early and help set up for the teacher breakfast our school is having. It's tomorrow, and then school starts next Monday. How exciting! I want it to be really nice for the teachers. We're going to put flowers and decorations with a breakfast buffet. Hopefully everything will turn out perfect. Got to run!
Day 114
August 13, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige in shock here! Somebody called my grandpa's farm and asked if Marshmallow was for sale! Ummm...no! I guess they saw him at one of the shows last spring and wanted to ask if we'd be willing to sell him. Grandpa said it was up to me, but I said no way! Why would I sell my horse? I love him too much to do that. I have to go call Jamie and tell her-
Day 113
August 9, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager again! Mr. Jason, my trainer, worked Marshmallow and me really hard this weekend. See, the trainer has to train me and my horse. Mr. Jason says Marshmallow is a good horse, he's just still learning his forms and stuff like that. It's fun, but it sure is a lot of work!
Day 112
August 6, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige checking in! Mom said we can go to the farm this weekend. I have to start working on my new routine with my trainer. Our next competition is in October, and then there are like 3 in a row before Thanksgiving! I can't wait to see Marshmallow, I miss him!
Day 111
July 31, 2009
Dear Diary, Frustrated Paige here. Ava is driving me crazy today! She keeps following me everywhere I go, and asking me about a million questions, like "why are you doing that?", and "can I do it?" I love my little sister, but sometimes I just want my own personal space. Even in my room I can't escape her, she just walks right in. Uggh!
Day 110
July 27, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager here! I had such a good time with my cousins. I'm really missing them now that they went back to Dayton. Mom said they can come back to stay the weekend with us again before summer is over. My mom is so cool! And can you believe my aunt and uncle actually found a magnet for me in Kenya? It may be my coolest magnet for my collection yet!
Day 109
July 22, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager checking in! Us girls are having such a great time! We play all day. Let's see, we do each other's hair, and play board games, and watch movies. It's kind of like one big sleepover, and I love it! I never get to see my cousins this much. I wish they lived right next door instead of 2 hours away. Time to get ready for bed!
Day 108
July 18, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige here! My cousins Natalie and Jessica are coming to stay with us for a whole week, starting Monday! My aunt and uncle are going to Kenya. I think that's in Africa. Anyways, we're going to have so much fun! Natalie and my sister Ava are both 3, and Jessica is 8. My dad says he's worried about having 4 girls in the house, but I'm not sure why-
Day 107
July 11, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager again! I am already excited to find out who my teacher is going to be for next year. The school said we should find out by August, but that's so far away. Hopefully they'll tell us early. And then I like to go to the open house where we see the classroom and meet the teachers. My stomach says it's time for lunch!
Day 106
July 8, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige here! I was just finishing my drink, and trying to get the ice out of the bottom. Well, when I tipped the cup back, the entire cup of ice fell down on me and my shirt! Kind of cold. Max and Maddie gobbled up all the ice off the floor. My dogs love ice in the summer.
Day 105
June 28, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! Can't I just bring Marshmallow home with me to our house? I ask my parents that pretty much every time we have to go back home. The answer is always no. I know we don't have a barn at home, but still. Okay, I know it sounds crazy, but after riding Marshmallow all week at Grandpa's farm, I'm really going to miss him!
Day 104
June 26, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager checking in! I think Max and Maddie would love being on the farm. We've never brought them before, but my parents said maybe next time we could try. Usually our neighbor takes care of them for us. I can just see those two dogs chasing around the horses in the fields! That would be funny!
Day 103
June 22, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! We're at Grandpa's farm, and we'll be here till next Sunday. I love summer because that means I get to spend more time with Marshmallow, and Grandpa too! I still think he's the most beautiful horse ever. In the morning I don't even want to eat breakfast before I run out to the barn to see him. Ava likes to run to the barn now too, and she can say "horsie". It's so cute!
Day 102
June 17, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager checking in! Last night was my Aunt Sherri's birthday and so we had the whole family over our house for dinner. We bought her flowers and made her a cookie cake that was really, really sweet. Then everybody left in a hurry because a big storm was coming, and Aunt Sherri forgot her flowers! I felt so bad. Hopefully we'll get them to her soon, flowers don't last forever. Time to go play with Ava!
Day 101
June 10, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! I'm feeling a little better today about school being out for the summer. We had a lot of fun today signing yearbooks and taking pictures with all our friends. It just makes me excited for next school year! And I am soooo doing the Spirit Club next year, and so is my BFF Jamie! Gotta run, Mom's calling me-
Day 100
June 9, 2009
Dear Diary, Bummed out Paige here-I'm really, really sad that tomorrow is our last day of school. I really like school. We get to do fun things while we're learning, and I get to do the Spirit Club stuff. The one good thing about summer is that I'll have more time to spend at Grandpa's farm with my horse Marshmallow. That is a good thing!
Day 99
May 30, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager again! We played frisbee outside with this new cool disc my mom bought at the store. It's much easier than a regular frisbee because you just fling it, and it works. Of course, Max and Maddie were trying to get it from us too. They were so tired by the end they just flopped down in the yard waiting for us to finish.
Day 98
May 29, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager here! It's kind of nice not having meetings every day after school and carnivals and other stuff going on. Almost like a vacation! And speaking of vacation, our last day of school is June 10th! I want to get a present for my teacher. You know, just something to say thank you. I have no idea what though, better get thinking!
Day 97
May 22, 2009
Dear Diary, Oops! I totally forgot to tell you about the best thing at the carnival. We had a dunk tank, and the p.e. teachers all took turns. What you do is stand behind a line and throw a ball at the lever. If you hit the lever then the person sitting on the bench falls in the water. I think we sold more tickets for the dunk tank than anything else!
Day 96
May 18, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager again! The carnival was a big success! What a great spirit club we have, and all the volunteers really helped a lot too. Now the principal wants us to do it even bigger next year! I'd be willing to do it again, for sure! But right now I have a room to clean, and homework to do, and laundry to put away. See ya later-
Day 95
May 12, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager again! You may not hear from me for awhile since I have meetings after school and everything. I haven't even had time to hang out with my best friend Jamie. She's in the spirit club too, but we're on different planning groups. I know it's crazy right now, but it will be worth it when everyone's having a good time Saturday. See ya later!
Day 94
May 7, 2009
Dear Diary, Busy Paige here! Our school carnival is a week from this Saturday, so the next 10 days are going to be hectic. At leat we have a lot of kids and moms helping out. Even our principal has been helping with making signs and everything. And, we're busy selling tickets before and after school, and during lunch. The tickets are for all the rides and games. I can't wait!
Day 93
April 30, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! My trophy looks so good on my dresser! It has a golden horse jumping on the top. I still can't believe I did so well! We get the pictures back from the competition tomorrow. You know, I didn't even notice the photographer when I was riding. I hope the ones of Marshmallow and me turned out good-
Day 92
April 26, 2009
Dear Diary, Page here with news! I placed third overall! I was pretty happy with that because the jumping course was very hard. They had so many changes of direction, and my timing was a little slower than it should have been. Third place! Wait until I show Jamie my trophy!
Day 91
April 18, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager checking in! Figured it would be a good time to write while we're driving to Grandpa's farm. This is the last weekend I have to practice riding before competition weekend! I am soooo excited, but I'm getting a little nervous too. I haven't done a competition since November! Wish me luck-
Day 90
April 16, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige here, finally! I know its been awhile since I've written. I've just been way busy with getting ready for our school carnival, AND, my horse show is not this Saturday, but the next Saturday. Even when I'm not riding Marshmallow, I'm practicing it in my head. I'm not sure if that helps or not, but I can't stop thinking about! Anyways, better get going, we have a spirit club meeting!
Day 89
April 7, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager again! Dad brought home a dry erase marker board he found at the office store. Now I finally have somewhere to put all my magets from my collection. I was trying tro decide if I should put them in alphabetical order by state, or line them up by color. We'll see. I'm just happy to have a board for them!
Day 88
April 4, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige here! Maddie, one of our dogs, has allergies. She keeps scratching with her hind legs. The vet says it must be something she ate, or something outside that's bothering her. Poor Maddie. We have to give her medicine until her boo-boos get better. And we have to keep reminding her to stop scratching. See ya-
Day 87
March 30, 2009
Dear Diary, I really don't like golf, but last night my dad wanted me to watch some golf tournament with him. I really only watched the very end of it. That Tiger Woods guy is really good! He was so excited when he got that last hole and won the whole thing, he was jumping all around and grinning really big. It does make you happy when you do good after trying so hard, kind of like I feel when I do well at a riding show. Speaking of which, I just found out I have another one coming up in April!
Day 86
March 28, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige, Paige, Paige! Another dentist appointment yesterday after school. They're not so bad today, but yesterday my braces were killing me after my dentist tightened them. I still don't understand why she has to do that every month. So soup for dinner last night. Yipee, I know! Later-
Day 85
March 24, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager again! My Aunt Sherri sent me a new magnet for my collection. It's from California. I haven't been there yet, but I hope to visit her there someday. She lives in San Francisco. Now I have 21 magnets! I need to come up with some way to display them in my room...maybe a dry erase board since they're magnetic?
Day 84
March 18, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige here! Jamie hasn't been in school all week because she has strep throat. I stopped by after school today with my mom to bring her the work she's missing. We didn't go inside though, Mom doesn't want any of us getting strep either. Poor Jamie! I hope she feels better soon.
Day 83
March 8, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager checking in! My cousins came to visit for the weekend. We played and played and played! I wish Natalie and Jessica lived closer so we could see them all the time. We played restaurant, and used old birthday cards as menus. It was fun!
Day 82
March 5, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! Grandpa's farm was awesome! Marshmallow was dancing all around his stall as soon as he saw me walk in the barn. And yes, Ava did get a chance to ride him around the corral a little bit. Of course, I was leading Marshmallow the whole time. Ava really seemed to like it! Pretty soon I have to get back to training with him, there's a show coming up in May. Gotta go-
Day 81
February 28, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! We're in the car on our way out to Grandpa's farm for the weekend. Dad kept his promise. He said if he finished his work we could go out to the farm so I could ride Marshmallow. It feels like forever since I've seen him. I wonder if he has gotten any bigger?!?! Mommy says that maybe Ava can sit on him too now that she's getting bigger. We'll see if she likes it-
Day 80
February 25, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige here, and I only have a minute! Jamie and I are going to copy store so we can finish printing out everything for our group project. We made these fancy color covers and everything. Hopefully, the teacher will think we did a good job. See ya!
Day 79
February 20, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager, Pager, Pager! I don't know why I'm so excited today! Maybe because it's Friday? Dad says he swears I get all hyped up right before a big storm blows through. He says it's something about the pressure. Whatever! We can't go out to see Marshmallow this weekend since Dad has to work, but he promises we will next weekend.
Day 78
February 15, 2009
Dear Diary, It's Paige- Poor Max and Maddie! Ava took a bunch of my stickers and stuck them all over their fur. She thought it made them look pretty. And I guess it was kind of funny, but not so funny when we had to take them off. My little sister thinks she can do anything she wants.
Day 77
February 13, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! Happy almost Valentine's Day! Everything went great this week with organizing and selling the carnations. Then the spirit club delivered them to the students during the last part of the day today. I got three pink and white carnations from my friends. I love flowers, and I love Valentine's Day!
Day 76
February 9, 2009
Dear Diary, Busy Paige here! We are totally swamped at school this week. Before school, after school, during lunchtime...the spirit club is busy taking orders for carnations fo Valentine's Day. We have to collect the money, and write out tickets. Then we have to get our count and everything done by Wednesday so we can get the flowers in time for Friday. Whew, that's busy!
Day 75
January 31, 2009
Dear Diary, Guess who? I love Saturdays! I get to sleep in and hang out in my pajamas all morning if I want to. Tomorrow is already February 1st! I can't believe how fast January went by. Oh well, that means it's almost Valentine's Day! Our school always sells carnations for the kids and teacher to give to anyone they want. I always buy one for Jamie and my teachers.
Day 74
January 28, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again! I feel like such a goof. I was walking in the hallway today with my BFF Jamie, and I all of a sudden I tripped over nothing and fell on the ground! I was so embarassed, and kids were looking at me like, "what a klutz". Mom keeps saying that someday I'll grow into my feet. I sure hope so, I would hate to be a klutz forever!
Day 73
January 21, 2009
Dear Diary, Page checkin' in- Our school spirit club has to get busy on our carnival we're planning. We were going to have it in April, but it might still be cold out, so we're going to have it in May. And I know that sounds like it's so far away, but it's really not! We have to organize food, booths, all the contests, and so much more. Whew!
Day 72
January 17, 2009
Dear Diary, It's me Paige! Sounds like Jamie took my advice and talked to her parents about wanting a birthday party separate from her brother. She told me this morning that they were really nice about it and said that would be fine with them if she had a sleepover instead. Since I'm Jamie's BFF, I hope that means I get to go too!
Day 71
January 11, 2009
Dear Diary, Pager checkin' in! Jamie was so upset about her party she's planning. Her brother has a birthday only one week after her's, so her parents have always had one party for both of them. Well, that used to be okay when they were little, and both liked to do the same things. But now, Luke wants to have the party at some laser tag place, and Jamie wants to have a sleepover with pizza and do like a "Highschool Musical" thing. I felt bad for her, but she has to tell her parents, not me, that she wants to do something different than Luke this year.
Day 70
January 8, 2009
Dear Diary, Paige again, finally! I have been soooo busy even though school didn't start until yesterday. We were shopping for school clothes, and I was hanging out with my BFF Jamie a lot, and I can't even remember what else. But the time went by so fast, and now here it is 2009! Oh, I almost forgot, I have to go call Jamie, she wants to tell me about her birthday party that she's planning!
Day 69
December 30, 2008
Dear Diary, Jamie is coming to spend the night tonight. That's one of the things I love about being on vacation, you can have sleepovers during the week too! I hope she remembers to bring her diary too so we can write in them together. Not that we read what the other one writes, but it's fun to write at the same time. Better go get my room ready!
Day 68
December 28, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige here, bruises and all! My sister Ava seems to think it's funny right now to throw things at people. If it was just paper or something I wouldn't care. However, this morning I was laying on the floor minding my own business and she walked right up to me and dropped the phone on my forehead! It really hurt! Mom says don't give her a reaction, and she'll stop doing it. How can you not react when someone hurts you like that?!?!?!
Day 67
December 23, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager checkin' in! We did get to go to Grandpa's farm and ride Marshmallow Saturday! It was way more fun than I even remembered. I think he was a little nervous at first, but then he got used to it. While we're out of school for vacation, I'm going to see if I can stay with Grandpa for a few days, spend some more time with my horse. Hopefully!
Day 66
December 19, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige here again! This will be Marshmallow's first winter in the snow. Before he came to Grandpa's farm, he was in Florida. I can't wait to ride him in the snow! It's a little chilly at first, but worth it. We had to add snowball pads under Marshmallow's shoes so his hooves don't freeze in the snow. It can actually give them bruises if you don't.
Day 65
December 12, 2008
Dear Diary, Today was the last day of the holiday gift shop. Jamie and I helped at the cash register which was fun. One of the moms would handle the money while we wrapped everything in tissue paper and put it in a bag. We raised about $200 for the school, which we're going to use in the spring for our carnival.
Day 64
December 9, 2008
Dear Diary, Guess who? Paige! The Spirit Club is helping to run the holiday gift shop at school. Every year we have it on the stage in the cafeteria. All the kids can come buy presents for their families. I think it's neat because then your parents and sisters don't know what you're buying for them, it's a surprise! But sometimes it's hard to keep it a secret what I buy at the holiday shop because I'm so excited to show them!
Day 63
November 30, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige here- I spent the night last night at Jamie's house. I love going out to Grandpa's farm, and seeing Marshmallow. But the bad part about being out at the farm so much when I'm training, is that I miss seeing my BFF. Jamie and I watched movies and ate cotton candy. Our mouths were all blue and sticky when we were done!
Day 62
November 24, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager again! Time is just flying by now! I can hardly believe it's already time for pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes. Last week I had my competition with Marshmallow. That's why I haven't even had time to write lately! I came in fourth place after my foot came out of one of the stirrups. That's not so bad when I remember that Marshmallow and I haven't been riding together that long. I'm hoping we just get better with more practice.
Day 61
November 12, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Pager! Guess what? I just found out that my cousins are coming down from Dayton for the weekend! I can't wait to see them because we always have so much fun together. We're all going to Grandpa's farm. I can show them Marshmallow too! Natalie isn't old enough to ride Marshmallow, but Jessica sure can, she's eight. I wish the weekend would hurry up!
Day 60
November 11, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Paige! Jamie, Sally and I have been helping the spirit club sell pencils before and after school. They're called "Smencils", because they smell. But what's really cool about them is that they're made from recycled newspapers. Isn't that neat? My favorite one is bubble gum. Our school is trying to raise enough money to buy new books for the library. The more Smencils we sell, the more books we can buy!
Day 59
November 6, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige here! I know Ava is little, but she gets into everything! I came home from school today, and she was in my room chewing on some of the magnets from my collection! Luckily she didn't get my new favorite one that my BFF Jamie gave me from her trip to Georgia. And I bet magnets aren't really good for kids to chew on. Mom felt bad that she didn't notice Ava had gone into my room. Ava's always in my room!
Day 58
November 4, 2008
Dear Diary, Guess who? I miss Marshmallow when I don't get to see him. I wish I could see him everyday. Mom took a picture of me riding him last time we were out at Grandpa's farm. Then she had it blown up to a bigger size. Now I can see Marshmallow everyday on my bulletin board that has all my family pictures on it.
Day 57
October 30, 2008
Dear Diary, It's me, Pager again! Not much time to write because there's just so much going on this week around here! It's Red Ribbon Week at school, for saying no to drugs and smoking. I've been busy helping the spirit club make posters and pass out buttons and pencils to all the classes. And then tomorrow is Halloween! My BFF Jamie is having a super cool haunted house that her family does every year. It's so neat! They have a motion sensored mummy and a big coffin with all this smoke. I can't wait!
Day 56
October 27, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige here with good news. I finished my school project on Saturday, so Mom and I were able to go out to the farm and meet Daddy and Ava. Thank goodness I got it done. I don't think I want to wait till the last minute like that again for projects. It just makes it that much harder to do. Anyways, I spent Sunday mostly riding Marshmallow. We do have that competition in November, which is almost here! Later-
Day 55
October 24, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige again. Well, I had to tell Dad the truth about not getting my project done. He said that we were all supposed to go to Grandpa's farm this weekend, but now I have to stay home with Mom and work on my project while he takes Ava out to the farm. That seems so unfair, all because I didn't finish my project, but I guess it really is my own fault. I'm going to miss seeing Marshmallow. Mom said if I get it all finished on Saturday, then maybe we can still go out there for the day on Sunday.
Day 54
October 22, 2008
Dear Diary, Uh-oh, Pager here. Remember how the other day I went to the library with Jamie to work on my social studies project? Well, I have to be honest, Jamie and I didn't really get a lot of work done. In fact, we really didn't do any work, we just sat there and talked and messed around. Well, now I still have the whole project to do, and it's due in 5 days! How am I going to convince my dad to take me back to the library, when he doesn't think I need to?
Day 53
October 19, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige here! Jamie is on her way over so we can go to the library. We have a big project to do for social studies about Thanksgiving. Dad said he would take us over to the library so we can get our books and do some work while he uses the computer lab. Works for me! I hear the doorbell, better go!
Day 52
October 18, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige again! Every time we turn the tv on there's something about the election. How much more can these guys say? Mom says it's important because whoever we vote for makes decisions for the entire country. Okay, but I don't even get a vote until I turn 18!
Day 51
October 15, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager here! We had to take Max and Maddie to the groomers today. Their fur was getting lots of knots in it, and they were starting to get smelly too. It's usually my job to brush them, but it's hard sometimes because their fur is so long. Now they both look all pretty again and their fur is much shorter. Mom bought some new kind of brush to help me get the tangles out better. I love my doggies!
Day 50
October 13, 2008
Dear Diary, Guess who? Poor Ava! She had the flu all weekend. I tried to stay away from her and in my room so I wouldn't get sick too. I haven't gotten the flu shot yet, but I think I better. She looked terrible, and I kept hearing her cry at night. She seems to be getting over it now though.
Day 49
October 6, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Paige! My little sister Ava is getting really good at coloring. She likes for me to sit with her at her table and color. She's learning how to color staying inside the lines. That's kind of a hard thing to teach somebody, but Ava watches how I do it and then tries herself.
Day 48
October 5, 2008
Dear Diary, It's me, Paige! Finally, we made it out to Grandpa's farm this weekend! I think Marshmallow missed me last weekend. Nobody brushes and takes care of him as good as I do. And I also give him extra oats to eat. All day yesterday I rode him and practiced my jumps. I think we were both tired. I love Marshmallow so much!
Day 47
September 30, 2008
Dear Diary, It's me Paige again! I heard a pretty funny joke at school today...
Why did the pony cough?
He was a little hoarse!
Get it? Like a little 'horse'? I thought it was very funny, but then again, I love horses, so of course I thought it was funny!
Day 46
September 29, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager here. I was kind of sad this weekend that we didn't get to go out to Grandpa's farm so I could ride Marshmallow. Mom says they do their best, but that we can't go out there every single weekend. I wish we could! Instead I hung out with Jamie. She wanted to play outside, but I wanted to play a board game, so we did both. That way we were both happy!
Day 45
September 25, 2008
Dear Diary, My sister Ava just loves hanging out in my room! I don't know why, she has her own room and her own toys. She likes to just climb up onto my bed and see what I'm doing. It's not like she can read my diary yet, she doesn't even know what a diary is! And she loves for me to read books to her. Sometimes she'll bring me a couple of her favorite books and say "Read me."
Day 44
September 22, 2008
Dear Diary, It's me, Pager! Marshmallow is the sweetest horse ever! I have to get used to riding him a little more, but so far we did pretty good together. And when I brushed him down after riding, he did such a good job standing still. Of course, I was talking to him the whole time. The only part I have a hard time with when taking care of horses is their hooves. You have to clean out the bottom of their hoove, around the horseshoe. Sometimes I can't get the horse to lift their leg up. There must be a trick or something. Grandpa usually helps me with that part.
Day 43
September 20, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige again! I wish Mom and Ava would hurry up and be ready to go. I've been up since before the sun and am so excited to see Marshmallow! Dad's going to meet us out there when it's time for dinner. He has some clients to see this morning. I want him to see me ride Marshmallow. Hopefully I'll be able to ride Marshmallow in the morning and right before dinner.
Day 42
September 16, 2008
Dear Diary, Guess who? It's Pager! I cannot wait for this weekend to get here. I want to get out to Grandpa's farm and ride Marshmallow. I still can't believe he's really mine! I think I better bring a camera too, so I can take a picture of Marshmallow to put on my bedroom wall. Saturday, please hurry up!
Day 41
September 13, 2008
Dear Diary, Thank you Grandpa! He says I'm finally big enough to ride a big horse, not just a pony. Remember that white horse with brown splashes? Well, Grandpa said he named him Marshmallow after me saying that's what he looked like! And Grandpa says he'll be mine to ride and train on for the next competition. That's not until November, but that's okay, it'll be here soon enough!
Day 40
September 11, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager, checking in! Dad says we can go out to Grandpa's farm this weekend-yeah! I haven't been out to see the horses or Grandpa since school started. It's just been busy around here. I wish I could bring Jamie with us too. Maybe one day they'll let me, it never hurts to ask.
Day 39
September 8, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager here! Monday we had a big school spirit assembly at school. I guess the principal wanted to celebrate the beginning of the school year and what a great start we're off to. It was a lot of fun! Go Owls!
Day 38
September 5, 2008
Dear Diary, My BFF Jamie is so sweet! She brought me a magnet from Georgia from when she was on vacation. It has a peach on it and says "Georgia on my mind..." I love it and will add it to my collection. I think I have close to twenty magnets from vacations now. Most of the magnets are from places I've been to, like Florida and New York. Sometimes Grandma brings me magnets from her vacations too.
Day 37
August 29, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige again! I've really missed seeing my friend Jamie this summer. She was gone all summer to visit her grandparents in Georgia. We're pretty much always together. But now that school is getting ready to start she should be back any day now. I can't wait to tell her how the horse show went! And I want to hear what she did in Georgia. She had told me before she left that she couldn't wait to have all the peaches she could eat!
Day 36
August 25, 2008
Dear Diary, At dinner that night I finally had to tell my parents what happened to my braces from eating popcorn. I could tell Dad was not happy. He didn't yell or anything, but that look on his face was not good, and I could see him biting his lips together. So this morning Mom took me to the orthodontist so I could get a new metal band around my tooth. She made me promise I will not eat any more popcorn until my braces come off. After being so scared to tell my parents, she has nothing to worry about. Popcorn can wait!
Day 35
August 23, 2008
Dear Diary, I think I'm going to have to go to the orthodontist for my braces. You see, I went to the movies with my friend Sally today and even though I'm not supposed to eat popcorn, I did anyway. Well, after I started eating it I took a bite and felt this really weird crunch in my mouth. I couldn't figure it out at first, but it's not good. The metal band around my bottom molar came off my tooth and is all bent now. My parents are going to kill me!
Day 34
August 17, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Pager again! My little sister Ava is so funny sometimes. When she wants me to play with her she'll keep peeking around the corner at me. She gets this adorable little smile on her face. And I know she's just waiting for me to jump out of the chair and chase her around the house.
Day 33
August 14, 2008
Dear Diary, This morning I had to go to the orthodontist. I dread it every month. She's a very nice woman really, but every month I have to go get my braces tightened and they just hurt so bad afterwards. It only lasts for a couple days, but I can only think of so many soft foods to eat.
Day 32
August 12, 2008
Dear Diary, I know it's been so long since I've written! And I just don't know where the time has gone. I've been playing a lot with Max and Maddie. They sure do need a lot of exercise. Golden retrievers really are the sweetest dogs ever!
Day 31
July 24, 2008
Dear Diary, I don't feel really well today. I think that my allergies are acting up, again. I couldn't breathe out of my nose at all! Mom says I might have to go see an allergy doctor. I hope that my allergies get better. I want to be able to smell again!
Day 30
July 21, 2008
Dear Diary, Being on the farm was so much fun! I got to spend a ton of time with mom and grandma and I did learn a "secret family recipe!" Grandma showed me how to make an apple pie, with fresh apples from the orchard in town. She says that I could be a famous chef one day, as long as I don't tell anyone her recipes!
Day 29
July 18, 2008
Dear Diary, Mom and I are going to visit grandma and grandpa this weekend. I haven't seen them in a while and I really miss them. Maybe grandma will let me help her bake an apple pie. She said that she would let me cook with her last time I was there. Maybe I will finally get to learn a "secret family recipe!"
Day 28
July 15, 2008
Dear Diary, Today was really boring. Mom and Dad both had to work so I had to go to a camp. I've always liked camp, but there was nothing fun to do! I hope it gets better next week. Maybe I will get to go swimming or do lifeguard training. I think it would be really cool to sit in one of those giant lifeguard chairs!
Day 27
July 12, 2008
Dear Diary, I did get a blue ribbon at the show! It was so amazing. I got to stand on a stage and everything! Horse-shows are so much fun. I love riding and I hope that I can always be near horses. They are just so sweet and adorable!
Day 26
July 9, 2008
Dear Diary, The horse show is so much fun. I've been in three competitions so far, but I still have two more to go. I'm doing pretty well so far. I won second place in showmanship! I hope I can get a first place tomorrow. I want to add a blue ribbon to my trophy wall!
Day 25
July 6, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Pager! We leave for the horse show tomorrow. It's going to be during the week this time. We are going for 4 days! I'm so excited. I doubt that I will be able to sleep at all tonight.
Day 24
July 3, 2008
Dear Diary, Today I went to a friend's house to play! We had so much fun. She has a pool and a trampoline. I'm so very tired, though. We ran around all day and ate a lot of food. The best food was the moose tracks icecream. It's my favorite icecream, after all! Well, I'm going to go take a nap before we eat dinner. Mmmm, more food!
Day 23
June 30, 2008
Dear Diary, Hi, it's Paige, again! I'm going to be in another horse show next week. I am so excited and I can't wait! I want to win one of my competitions this time and I think that I can do it. Ok, I'm going down to grandpa's farm now. We are going to practice running barrels. Isn't that so exciting!?
Day 22
June 27, 2008
Dear Diary, Today we went to the Coney Island Water Park in Cincinnati! It was so much fun. There were tons of rides and a giant wave pool. I love going to water parks because we hardly ever go to the beach. Mom said that we might get to go again in August. I really hope so!
Day 21
June 24, 2008
Dear Diary, There has been so much rain for the last few days. Mom says that the whole state is going to float down into Kentucky pretty soon. I doubt that's going to happen though. But, there is still so much water! Our basement was flooded out and dad had to pump it all out. He was not happy that day. I can't wait to see the sun again!
Day 20
June 21, 2008
Dear Diary, I had so much fun at grandpa's farm. I can't wait to go back again later this summer. Mom decided that we are going to go to the dog park tomorrow so that Max and Maddie can play with the other dogs. I love going to the park because there is so much room to run around. My sister's favorite game is tag, so I bet we are going to do a lot of running!
Day 19
June 18, 2008
Dear Diary, Grandma did make her pies! But, grandpa ate almost the whole thing already. He loves her pies just as much as I do. I spent the whole day out with the horses today. I brushed them, and fed them, and walked them around their paddocks. Grandpa says that I can ride tomorrow because I did such a good job taking care of them today.
Day 18
June 15, 2008
Dear Diary, School is over. Tomorrow I am going up to my grandpa's farm to spend the week! Grandma and Grandpa are so excited. I haven't stayed with them since last summer, which was a year ago! I hope grandma makes her apple pies again. They are so good!
Day 17
June 12, 2008
Dear Diary, I can't believe that summer is almost here. This year went by so fast. I can't wait to be out of school, though. I will get to spend almost every day with my horses. Yay!
Day 16
June 9, 2008
Dear Diary, The horse show was so amazing! I can't believe that I did so good. I competed in three different competitions and my best was second place in jumping! This was the best weekend ever. I loved it so much. I can't wait to go to another show. It's going to be a few weeks, but summer is practically here so there will be a bunch of shows before school starts again. Im so happy!
Day 15
June 6, 2008
Dear Diary, I can't believe my horse show is tomorrow! We are in the car right now. It takes a few hours to get there so I'm writing before I fall asleep. I always do on long car trips. I'm starting to get a little nervous. I hope I do really good!
Day 14
June 3, 2008
Dear Diary, One more week of school. I know I can do it! My teacher gave the class little gifts today. I got a bookmark with a horse on it. It is so cute! I think that I will give my teacher a gift too. She is so nice and I am going to miss her a lot next year.
Day 13
May 31, 2008
Dear Diary, Oh my goodness! My horse competition is next weekend! I'm so excited that I'm going to get to compete. My grandpa is going and so are some of my friends. It is going to be the greatest day ever! I can't wait to tell you all about it, Diary. Ooh, dinner time. I'll write more later.
Day 12
May 28, 2008
Dear Diary, Memorial Day was really fun. There was a big parade in my town. We followed it to all of the statues of soldiers and they played tons of music. After the parade we had a huge picnic with all of our family. It was at my house this year. We had hamburgers and hotdogs to eat. I played games with my cousins all afternoon. It was really fun, but I was so tired!
Day 11
May 25, 2008
Dear Diary, I'm so excited! We are going to go on a vacation this summer to Alabama. We are staying at a... um... bed and breakfast. They have horses there and I can go riding every day! We're going to go on trails and see really cool things! I can't wait. This summer is going to be awesome!
Day 10
May 22, 2008
Dear Diary, Only two weeks until my competition. Practices are getting a lot harder. I have to practice, practice, practice! I really hope I win a prize. Then I could put it on the wall in my room so that everyone could see I'm good at riding!
Day 9
May 19, 2008
Dear Diary, Yay! I'm not sick anymore so I can go back to the stables again. I missed the horses so much. They missed me too. I know because they all came over to see me when I went over to the field to say hi. They are the sweetest animals ever.
Day 8
May 16, 2008
Dear Diary, ugh. I'm sick. Everybody here is sick. I'm all stuffed up and nothing tastes right. I'm going to go back to sleep. Being sick is boring... There's nothing to do!
Day 7
May 13, 2008
Dear Diary,I practiced for my horse show again. I can't believe it's only 2 weeks away! I hope I do really good. I want to win a blue ribbon. I think I'm going to compete in jumps and barrels. Those are the best ones to ride in.
Day 6
May 10, 2008
Dear Diary,Today, today, today... I didn't really do much today. I watched some tv and played hide and seek with my sister. She's really good. I think it's because she is so tiny! Well, that's all for now.
Day 5
May 7, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Pager here! I just had the greatest day! After school I went to my practice for the horse show next month. They have a new horse at the barn. She's so pretty... all white with brown splashes. She reminds me of a marshmallow! I got to brush her and lead her around the ring so that she could get used to it. She is so amazing and I want to ride her for one of my competitions. She is much nicer than the pony I'm supposed to be riding. He's always grumpy and just wants to eat hay. yeesh!
Day 4
May 4, 2008
Dear Diary, Today I got to visit my grandpa again! He let me help him feed the horses and the chickens. It was so funny to watch him take the eggs. You have to hold the chicken upside down to do it! hehe. I got to practice for my next competition, which is going to be in June. I hope I do really good.
Day 3
May 1, 2008
Dear Diary, It was cold again today so I couldn't go out and play. I still had fun though. My friend Sally came over and we played Scrabble with my mom. She did a lot better than me! I can't wait until Sally and I can go outside to play. There are so many more things to do!
Day 2
April 28, 2008
Dear Diary,Today it was so rainy outside. Max and Maddie got me all wet and muddy with their paws! They had been outside playing and when they came in, they were soaked! Oh well, they're still the cutest dogs in the world.
Day 1
April 25, 2008
Dear Diary, This is my first diary so... Hi. I'm Pager. Today I went to my Grandpa's farm and he let me ride one of his ponies. She was really pretty. I love to ride horses so much. He gave me this diary, too, because I did so good riding! Writing isn't too hard. This might be really fun!
