Paige's Diary
Day 61
November 12, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Pager! Guess what? I just found out that my cousins are coming down from Dayton for the weekend! I can't wait to see them because we always have so much fun together. We're all going to Grandpa's farm. I can show them Marshmallow too! Natalie isn't old enough to ride Marshmallow, but Jessica sure can, she's eight. I wish the weekend would hurry up!
Day 60
November 11, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Paige! Jamie, Sally and I have been helping the spirit club sell pencils before and after school. They're called "Smencils", because they smell. But what's really cool about them is that they're made from recycled newspapers. Isn't that neat? My favorite one is bubble gum. Our school is trying to raise enough money to buy new books for the library. The more Smencils we sell, the more books we can buy!
Day 59
November 6, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige here! I know Ava is little, but she gets into everything! I came home from school today, and she was in my room chewing on some of the magnets from my collection! Luckily she didn't get my new favorite one that my BFF Jamie gave me from her trip to Georgia. And I bet magnets aren't really good for kids to chew on. Mom felt bad that she didn't notice Ava had gone into my room. Ava's always in my room!
Day 58
November 4, 2008
Dear Diary, Guess who? I miss Marshmallow when I don't get to see him. I wish I could see him everyday. Mom took a picture of me riding him last time we were out at Grandpa's farm. Then she had it blown up to a bigger size. Now I can see Marshmallow everyday on my bulletin board that has all my family pictures on it.
Day 57
October 30, 2008
Dear Diary, It's me, Pager again! Not much time to write because there's just so much going on this week around here! It's Red Ribbon Week at school, for saying no to drugs and smoking. I've been busy helping the spirit club make posters and pass out buttons and pencils to all the classes. And then tomorrow is Halloween! My BFF Jamie is having a super cool haunted house that her family does every year. It's so neat! They have a motion sensored mummy and a big coffin with all this smoke. I can't wait!
Day 56
October 27, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige here with good news. I finished my school project on Saturday, so Mom and I were able to go out to the farm and meet Daddy and Ava. Thank goodness I got it done. I don't think I want to wait till the last minute like that again for projects. It just makes it that much harder to do. Anyways, I spent Sunday mostly riding Marshmallow. We do have that competition in November, which is almost here! Later-
Day 55
October 24, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige again. Well, I had to tell Dad the truth about not getting my project done. He said that we were all supposed to go to Grandpa's farm this weekend, but now I have to stay home with Mom and work on my project while he takes Ava out to the farm. That seems so unfair, all because I didn't finish my project, but I guess it really is my own fault. I'm going to miss seeing Marshmallow. Mom said if I get it all finished on Saturday, then maybe we can still go out there for the day on Sunday.
Day 54
October 22, 2008
Dear Diary, Uh-oh, Pager here. Remember how the other day I went to the library with Jamie to work on my social studies project? Well, I have to be honest, Jamie and I didn't really get a lot of work done. In fact, we really didn't do any work, we just sat there and talked and messed around. Well, now I still have the whole project to do, and it's due in 5 days! How am I going to convince my dad to take me back to the library, when he doesn't think I need to?
Day 53
October 19, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige here! Jamie is on her way over so we can go to the library. We have a big project to do for social studies about Thanksgiving. Dad said he would take us over to the library so we can get our books and do some work while he uses the computer lab. Works for me! I hear the doorbell, better go!
Day 52
October 18, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige again! Every time we turn the tv on there's something about the election. How much more can these guys say? Mom says it's important because whoever we vote for makes decisions for the entire country. Okay, but I don't even get a vote until I turn 18!
Day 51
October 15, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager here! We had to take Max and Maddie to the groomers today. Their fur was getting lots of knots in it, and they were starting to get smelly too. It's usually my job to brush them, but it's hard sometimes because their fur is so long. Now they both look all pretty again and their fur is much shorter. Mom bought some new kind of brush to help me get the tangles out better. I love my doggies!
Day 50
October 13, 2008
Dear Diary, Guess who? Poor Ava! She had the flu all weekend. I tried to stay away from her and in my room so I wouldn't get sick too. I haven't gotten the flu shot yet, but I think I better. She looked terrible, and I kept hearing her cry at night. She seems to be getting over it now though.
Day 49
October 6, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Paige! My little sister Ava is getting really good at coloring. She likes for me to sit with her at her table and color. She's learning how to color staying inside the lines. That's kind of a hard thing to teach somebody, but Ava watches how I do it and then tries herself.
Day 48
October 5, 2008
Dear Diary, It's me, Paige! Finally, we made it out to Grandpa's farm this weekend! I think Marshmallow missed me last weekend. Nobody brushes and takes care of him as good as I do. And I also give him extra oats to eat. All day yesterday I rode him and practiced my jumps. I think we were both tired. I love Marshmallow so much!
Day 47
September 30, 2008
Dear Diary, It's me Paige again! I heard a pretty funny joke at school today...
Why did the pony cough?
He was a little hoarse!
Get it? Like a little 'horse'? I thought it was very funny, but then again, I love horses, so of course I thought it was funny!
Day 46
September 29, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager here. I was kind of sad this weekend that we didn't get to go out to Grandpa's farm so I could ride Marshmallow. Mom says they do their best, but that we can't go out there every single weekend. I wish we could! Instead I hung out with Jamie. She wanted to play outside, but I wanted to play a board game, so we did both. That way we were both happy!
Day 45
September 25, 2008
Dear Diary, My sister Ava just loves hanging out in my room! I don't know why, she has her own room and her own toys. She likes to just climb up onto my bed and see what I'm doing. It's not like she can read my diary yet, she doesn't even know what a diary is! And she loves for me to read books to her. Sometimes she'll bring me a couple of her favorite books and say "Read me."
Day 44
September 22, 2008
Dear Diary, It's me, Pager! Marshmallow is the sweetest horse ever! I have to get used to riding him a little more, but so far we did pretty good together. And when I brushed him down after riding, he did such a good job standing still. Of course, I was talking to him the whole time. The only part I have a hard time with when taking care of horses is their hooves. You have to clean out the bottom of their hoove, around the horseshoe. Sometimes I can't get the horse to lift their leg up. There must be a trick or something. Grandpa usually helps me with that part.
Day 43
September 20, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige again! I wish Mom and Ava would hurry up and be ready to go. I've been up since before the sun and am so excited to see Marshmallow! Dad's going to meet us out there when it's time for dinner. He has some clients to see this morning. I want him to see me ride Marshmallow. Hopefully I'll be able to ride Marshmallow in the morning and right before dinner.
Day 42
September 16, 2008
Dear Diary, Guess who? It's Pager! I cannot wait for this weekend to get here. I want to get out to Grandpa's farm and ride Marshmallow. I still can't believe he's really mine! I think I better bring a camera too, so I can take a picture of Marshmallow to put on my bedroom wall. Saturday, please hurry up!
Day 41
September 13, 2008
Dear Diary, Thank you Grandpa! He says I'm finally big enough to ride a big horse, not just a pony. Remember that white horse with brown splashes? Well, Grandpa said he named him Marshmallow after me saying that's what he looked like! And Grandpa says he'll be mine to ride and train on for the next competition. That's not until November, but that's okay, it'll be here soon enough!
Day 40
September 11, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager, checking in! Dad says we can go out to Grandpa's farm this weekend-yeah! I haven't been out to see the horses or Grandpa since school started. It's just been busy around here. I wish I could bring Jamie with us too. Maybe one day they'll let me, it never hurts to ask.
Day 39
September 8, 2008
Dear Diary, Pager here! Monday we had a big school spirit assembly at school. I guess the principal wanted to celebrate the beginning of the school year and what a great start we're off to. It was a lot of fun! Go Owls!
Day 38
September 5, 2008
Dear Diary, My BFF Jamie is so sweet! She brought me a magnet from Georgia from when she was on vacation. It has a peach on it and says "Georgia on my mind..." I love it and will add it to my collection. I think I have close to twenty magnets from vacations now. Most of the magnets are from places I've been to, like Florida and New York. Sometimes Grandma brings me magnets from her vacations too.
Day 37
August 29, 2008
Dear Diary, Paige again! I've really missed seeing my friend Jamie this summer. She was gone all summer to visit her grandparents in Georgia. We're pretty much always together. But now that school is getting ready to start she should be back any day now. I can't wait to tell her how the horse show went! And I want to hear what she did in Georgia. She had told me before she left that she couldn't wait to have all the peaches she could eat!
Day 36
August 25, 2008
Dear Diary, At dinner that night I finally had to tell my parents what happened to my braces from eating popcorn. I could tell Dad was not happy. He didn't yell or anything, but that look on his face was not good, and I could see him biting his lips together. So this morning Mom took me to the orthodontist so I could get a new metal band around my tooth. She made me promise I will not eat any more popcorn until my braces come off. After being so scared to tell my parents, she has nothing to worry about. Popcorn can wait!
Day 35
August 23, 2008
Dear Diary, I think I'm going to have to go to the orthodontist for my braces. You see, I went to the movies with my friend Sally today and even though I'm not supposed to eat popcorn, I did anyway. Well, after I started eating it I took a bite and felt this really weird crunch in my mouth. I couldn't figure it out at first, but it's not good. The metal band around my bottom molar came off my tooth and is all bent now. My parents are going to kill me!
Day 34
August 17, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Pager again! My little sister Ava is so funny sometimes. When she wants me to play with her she'll keep peeking around the corner at me. She gets this adorable little smile on her face. And I know she's just waiting for me to jump out of the chair and chase her around the house.
Day 33
August 14, 2008
Dear Diary, This morning I had to go to the orthodontist. I dread it every month. She's a very nice woman really, but every month I have to go get my braces tightened and they just hurt so bad afterwards. It only lasts for a couple days, but I can only think of so many soft foods to eat.
Day 32
August 12, 2008
Dear Diary, I know it's been so long since I've written! And I just don't know where the time has gone. I've been playing a lot with Max and Maddie. They sure do need a lot of exercise. Golden retrievers really are the sweetest dogs ever!
Day 31
July 24, 2008
Dear Diary, I don't feel really well today. I think that my allergies are acting up, again. I couldn't breathe out of my nose at all! Mom says I might have to go see an allergy doctor. I hope that my allergies get better. I want to be able to smell again!
Day 30
July 21, 2008
Dear Diary, Being on the farm was so much fun! I got to spend a ton of time with mom and grandma and I did learn a "secret family recipe!" Grandma showed me how to make an apple pie, with fresh apples from the orchard in town. She says that I could be a famous chef one day, as long as I don't tell anyone her recipes!
Day 29
July 18, 2008
Dear Diary, Mom and I are going to visit grandma and grandpa this weekend. I haven't seen them in a while and I really miss them. Maybe grandma will let me help her bake an apple pie. She said that she would let me cook with her last time I was there. Maybe I will finally get to learn a "secret family recipe!"
Day 28
July 15, 2008
Dear Diary, Today was really boring. Mom and Dad both had to work so I had to go to a camp. I've always liked camp, but there was nothing fun to do! I hope it gets better next week. Maybe I will get to go swimming or do lifeguard training. I think it would be really cool to sit in one of those giant lifeguard chairs!
Day 27
July 12, 2008
Dear Diary, I did get a blue ribbon at the show! It was so amazing. I got to stand on a stage and everything! Horse-shows are so much fun. I love riding and I hope that I can always be near horses. They are just so sweet and adorable!
Day 26
July 9, 2008
Dear Diary, The horse show is so much fun. I've been in three competitions so far, but I still have two more to go. I'm doing pretty well so far. I won second place in showmanship! I hope I can get a first place tomorrow. I want to add a blue ribbon to my trophy wall!
Day 25
July 6, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Pager! We leave for the horse show tomorrow. It's going to be during the week this time. We are going for 4 days! I'm so excited. I doubt that I will be able to sleep at all tonight.
Day 24
July 3, 2008
Dear Diary, Today I went to a friend's house to play! We had so much fun. She has a pool and a trampoline. I'm so very tired, though. We ran around all day and ate a lot of food. The best food was the moose tracks icecream. It's my favorite icecream, after all! Well, I'm going to go take a nap before we eat dinner. Mmmm, more food!
Day 23
June 30, 2008
Dear Diary, Hi, it's Paige, again! I'm going to be in another horse show next week. I am so excited and I can't wait! I want to win one of my competitions this time and I think that I can do it. Ok, I'm going down to grandpa's farm now. We are going to practice running barrels. Isn't that so exciting!?
Day 22
June 27, 2008
Dear Diary, Today we went to the Coney Island Water Park in Cincinnati! It was so much fun. There were tons of rides and a giant wave pool. I love going to water parks because we hardly ever go to the beach. Mom said that we might get to go again in August. I really hope so!
Day 21
June 24, 2008
Dear Diary, There has been so much rain for the last few days. Mom says that the whole state is going to float down into Kentucky pretty soon. I doubt that's going to happen though. But, there is still so much water! Our basement was flooded out and dad had to pump it all out. He was not happy that day. I can't wait to see the sun again!
Day 20
June 21, 2008
Dear Diary, I had so much fun at grandpa's farm. I can't wait to go back again later this summer. Mom decided that we are going to go to the dog park tomorrow so that Max and Maddie can play with the other dogs. I love going to the park because there is so much room to run around. My sister's favorite game is tag, so I bet we are going to do a lot of running!
Day 19
June 18, 2008
Dear Diary, Grandma did make her pies! But, grandpa ate almost the whole thing already. He loves her pies just as much as I do. I spent the whole day out with the horses today. I brushed them, and fed them, and walked them around their paddocks. Grandpa says that I can ride tomorrow because I did such a good job taking care of them today.
Day 18
June 15, 2008
Dear Diary, School is over. Tomorrow I am going up to my grandpa's farm to spend the week! Grandma and Grandpa are so excited. I haven't stayed with them since last summer, which was a year ago! I hope grandma makes her apple pies again. They are so good!
Day 17
June 12, 2008
Dear Diary, I can't believe that summer is almost here. This year went by so fast. I can't wait to be out of school, though. I will get to spend almost every day with my horses. Yay!
Day 16
June 9, 2008
Dear Diary, The horse show was so amazing! I can't believe that I did so good. I competed in three different competitions and my best was second place in jumping! This was the best weekend ever. I loved it so much. I can't wait to go to another show. It's going to be a few weeks, but summer is practically here so there will be a bunch of shows before school starts again. Im so happy!
Day 15
June 6, 2008
Dear Diary, I can't believe my horse show is tomorrow! We are in the car right now. It takes a few hours to get there so I'm writing before I fall asleep. I always do on long car trips. I'm starting to get a little nervous. I hope I do really good!
Day 14
June 3, 2008
Dear Diary, One more week of school. I know I can do it! My teacher gave the class little gifts today. I got a bookmark with a horse on it. It is so cute! I think that I will give my teacher a gift too. She is so nice and I am going to miss her a lot next year.
Day 13
May 31, 2008
Dear Diary, Oh my goodness! My horse competition is next weekend! I'm so excited that I'm going to get to compete. My grandpa is going and so are some of my friends. It is going to be the greatest day ever! I can't wait to tell you all about it, Diary. Ooh, dinner time. I'll write more later.
Day 12
May 28, 2008
Dear Diary, Memorial Day was really fun. There was a big parade in my town. We followed it to all of the statues of soldiers and they played tons of music. After the parade we had a huge picnic with all of our family. It was at my house this year. We had hamburgers and hotdogs to eat. I played games with my cousins all afternoon. It was really fun, but I was so tired!
Day 11
May 25, 2008
Dear Diary, I'm so excited! We are going to go on a vacation this summer to Alabama. We are staying at a... um... bed and breakfast. They have horses there and I can go riding every day! We're going to go on trails and see really cool things! I can't wait. This summer is going to be awesome!
Day 10
May 22, 2008
Dear Diary, Only two weeks until my competition. Practices are getting a lot harder. I have to practice, practice, practice! I really hope I win a prize. Then I could put it on the wall in my room so that everyone could see I'm good at riding!
Day 9
May 19, 2008
Dear Diary, Yay! I'm not sick anymore so I can go back to the stables again. I missed the horses so much. They missed me too. I know because they all came over to see me when I went over to the field to say hi. They are the sweetest animals ever.
Day 8
May 16, 2008
Dear Diary, ugh. I'm sick. Everybody here is sick. I'm all stuffed up and nothing tastes right. I'm going to go back to sleep. Being sick is boring... There's nothing to do!
Day 7
May 13, 2008
Dear Diary,I practiced for my horse show again. I can't believe it's only 2 weeks away! I hope I do really good. I want to win a blue ribbon. I think I'm going to compete in jumps and barrels. Those are the best ones to ride in.
Day 6
May 10, 2008
Dear Diary,Today, today, today... I didn't really do much today. I watched some tv and played hide and seek with my sister. She's really good. I think it's because she is so tiny! Well, that's all for now.
Day 5
May 7, 2008
Dear Diary, It's Pager here! I just had the greatest day! After school I went to my practice for the horse show next month. They have a new horse at the barn. She's so pretty... all white with brown splashes. She reminds me of a marshmallow! I got to brush her and lead her around the ring so that she could get used to it. She is so amazing and I want to ride her for one of my competitions. She is much nicer than the pony I'm supposed to be riding. He's always grumpy and just wants to eat hay. yeesh!
Day 4
May 4, 2008
Dear Diary, Today I got to visit my grandpa again! He let me help him feed the horses and the chickens. It was so funny to watch him take the eggs. You have to hold the chicken upside down to do it! hehe. I got to practice for my next competition, which is going to be in June. I hope I do really good.
Day 3
May 1, 2008
Dear Diary, It was cold again today so I couldn't go out and play. I still had fun though. My friend Sally came over and we played Scrabble with my mom. She did a lot better than me! I can't wait until Sally and I can go outside to play. There are so many more things to do!
Day 2
April 28, 2008
Dear Diary,Today it was so rainy outside. Max and Maddie got me all wet and muddy with their paws! They had been outside playing and when they came in, they were soaked! Oh well, they're still the cutest dogs in the world.
Day 1
April 25, 2008
Dear Diary, This is my first diary so... Hi. I'm Pager. Today I went to my Grandpa's farm and he let me ride one of his ponies. She was really pretty. I love to ride horses so much. He gave me this diary, too, because I did so good riding! Writing isn't too hard. This might be really fun!
