Swimming Party

Help! I have been invited to a swimming party for my friend, but I DO NOT know how to swim. I have always lived in a house without a pool and my parents never bothered to get me swimming lessons. I can sort of do a doggie paddle thing, but I really can't swim very well, and I defintely am afraid to go in the deep end. What will my friends think when they find out? Should I say something or just fake it? Oh, by the way, I'm 10.

alison you should tell your friends that you cant swim and maybe your friend wil help learn how to swim dont be afraid to tell the truth

Well, number 1, DON'T fake it. What if someone thought you could swim and threw you in the deep end! Just hang out in the shallow end. I would go to your mom and dad and tell them that you really want to learn to swim. I am sure you will have more pool parties to go to.

if your friends are true friends they wont care if u dont know how to swim so one option is to tell them. if you dont want to tell them,here is an alternative:try staying in the shallow end if your friends ask you to come swim in the deep end tell them u forgot your goggles and you dont like swimming whith your head up in the deep end. if your friend offers to lend you a pair of goggles just say yours had special coating on the outside to block the sun an your dad wanted you to were them. good luck,allyg.
