Smarty Pants

I am good friends with a girl from school. Most of the time, everything is just fine, but she has a way of making me feel stupid. Like if I don’t know a word, she’ll say, “Gosh, Cindy, that’s such a baby word” and then she’ll tell me what it means. She really is smart and does help me, but even when she jokes about me being stupid, it still hurts. Any ideas?

Tell your friend that you know she's smarter than you are.But you don't need to make fun of me for that.

I would tell this girl how I feel. If she is really smart, like you say she is then she'll take the hint and stop doing it. but if she continues to make you feel stupid, I would end the friendship. No good friend would make fun of you. And if she does continue to do it, just ignore her. sometimes people do things like that to get your attention. I have the same problem as you with two boys at my school. they always bug me but when i ignore them they leave me alone. Hope this helps! ! and i'm sure you're not stupid. who cares if you don't know what a word means.

That has happened to me alot. You can do 1 of 2 things... 1) Tell her that you don't like it when she does that. 2) Maybe she is not a real friend so don't hang aroud her!! Hope this helps!!!

maybe tell her to stop,or you could tell someone important to you.

She may not even realize she is hurting your feelings. I would wait until we were alone, and tell her exactly what she is doing and,how it makes me feel. If she listens and stops, she is a true friend.

I would tell her even when you are joking around it hurts. If she is really smart she will do the right thing. PS I am sure you aren't stupid!

I would explian to her that she sometimes makes you feel stupid,but she is helping you out.
