Shaking over Shots
September 22, 2008
I know this is silly, but I am so afraid to go to the doctor to get my check-up. I think I need to get some shots, and I HATE shots!! The whole thing makes me crazy, and I just get so nervous waiting in the room with my mom. And, I hate the little paper dress they make you wear. UGH!! What's a girl to do?

If your right about to get a shot, don't even think about it, think about something else, then it will be over right before you know it.

I would close my eyes and squeze my mom's hand and say to myself take it like a woman.

Actually, shots aren't that bad. I always get nervous when I'm going to get one, but in the end, it feels like nothing! Plus, you get a cool band-aid afterwards! HaHa :)

actually shots don't hurt that much. Just a few days ago I had to get a shot. I was so worried, but in the end it felt like nothing. So maybe you could squeeze your mom or dad's hand
(You're never too old to do that). It worked for me! :)

wow alex, i totally know how you feel. i am absoloutly terrified of shots. once when i was gonna take one in school and all the girls were watching and i almost exploded in tears(before my turn!) another girl she was so cool about it but she cried after she got it but me, i didn't even notice! It was soooo UNpainful. so you better express your feelings before and then u'll just see it wasn't worth crying and screaming and it would of been less painful than you imagined. so girl hang in there u can do it! and remeber about the paper dress thing of it as an expensive beautiful dress. and if u cant remember that u'll be home real soon and it'll all be over. u can do it alex, beleive in urself

You should hold on to your parent's hand and close your eyes. Then count to 10 but ask your doctor when to start counting. P.S. Get your shot on your arm, it hurts less! And if you absoulutley HATE pulling of band-aids, go swimming and it will just fall off.

Take a chill pill this is just a shot a lot of girls get !!!!!!!!!!!!! We all have to wear that stupid paper thing, but everyone has to do it.

I don't like shots eather. Tell your mom how you feel. You might want to take a book or little game to play to take your mind off of it. As for the paper dress, I really don't have a response. Good luck!

I know it IS freaky. But really it's not THAT bad it's just everyone including me gets so scared but afterwards it's not bad at all. Try not to think of it so much until it comes and then when it does just relax and think of something you're going 2 do after the doctors! If you don't have something to do... well then plan it!!!! Wish you luck.

I had to take my shots a week ago. Just hold on real tight to the bed and it will be all over.

I used to be scared of shots, too. But I got one recently, and it feels like an ear piercing. Is only a little pinch.

if you have trouble with shots and you're in the waiting room, then just think about the bright side!if you think there is not one think how quickly it will take to get your shots! maybe your mom/dad will take you for a treat when you're all done! how's that for lucky!-lena in illinois
